LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – AVIAN LLC celebrates their seventh consecutive appearance on the Inc. magazine 500|5000 exclusive list of the fastest-growing, privately-owned companies in the United States. This year, Inc. ranks AVIAN at 3599, highlighting a three-year growth rate of 87 percent.
“We are proud of what we do as a company,” said Kevin Switick, president and an owner of AVIAN. “The way we provide creative solutions to our customer, the relationships we have within the community and ultimately, the dedication we have to our family of talented employees. These essential components of AVIAN’s business philosophies are what continue to fuel our growth and enable our success.”
AVIAN is a service-disabled, veteran-owned small business devoted to the talent of its employees. AVIAN’s business model focuses on taking care of employees first, resulting in employees taking care of customers, with satisfied customers returning to continue seeking AVIAN’s business solutions.
In 2010, AVIAN debuted on the Inc. 500|5000 list at No. 230, five years after Jeff Sherman founded what was then called AVIAN Engineering. The company was ranked 267 in 2011, No. 660 in 2012, No. 1675 in 2013, No. 2630 in 2014 and No. 2417 in 2015.
Past alumni of the Inc. 5000 include notable companies such as Microsoft, Dell, Yelp, Timberland and Zillow. Companies on the 2016 list are responsible for creating 640,000 jobs in the past three years and have a combined revenue of $200 billion.
“The Inc. 5000 list stands out where it really counts,” said Inc. President and Editor-In-Chief Eric Schurenberg. “It honors real achievement by a founder or a team of them. No one makes the Inc. 5000 without building something great – usually from scratch . That’s one of the hardest things to do in business, as every company founder knows. But without it, free enterprise fails.”
The entrepreneurial spirit at AVIAN continues as it strives to redefine what it means to be resourceful, responsive and reachable to customers in the defense industry as well as the commercial market.
