The AVIAN Science and Technology (S&T) Division always does something to help spread holiday cheer for those who need it, from servicemen and women overseas to needy families in the Washington, D.C. area. In 2011, the S&T Division organized an event called “Holiday for Hope,” where they organized a Christmas celebration for families in need in the D.C. area. The all-day celebration event took place at Howard University and meant a lot to the families that attended.

In 2012, the S&T Division organized “Operation Santa Claus Marine Corps” where they adopted a USMC platoon of around 40 active duty marines. The S&T Division held fund raising events and was supported by many AVIAN employees who donated items ranging from homemade cookies to a Christmas tree. Then AVIAN got together on a weekend to wrap all the donated gifts in Christmas paper. The company shipped it all overseas in the hopes of sharing the holiday spirit with the marines that couldn’t be home with their families and friends.
