AVIAN LLC welcomes Jeff Davila and Don Schmitt as its newest Workforce Development and Training experts.
Davila joins AVIAN after 27 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy as an officer and aviator. He last held the position of commanding officer of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron 1 at Naval Air Station, Patuxent River where he was the leading authority on conducting tests, evaluations, and investigations of airborne antisubmarine warfare systems, airborne early warning weapon systems, armed helicopter weapon systems, airborne counter mine weapon systems, airborne strategic weapon systems, support systems, equipment, and materials in an operational environment.
Davila is a U.S. Naval Academy and U.S. Naval Test Pilot School graduate.
Schmitt joins AVIAN after serving as a senior-level government civilian and the director of logistics for the V-22 Osprey Joint Program Office for the past three years. Schmitt is an aeronautical logistics and maintenance management systems specialist with more than 38 years of experience directly relating to naval aviation programs, including in service logistics, organizational, intermediate and depot level maintenance; maintenance management and supervision; supply support analysis; logistics technical analysis and aircraft systems integration.
Schmitt is a retired U.S. Navy maintenance officer.
Davila and Schmitt will support AVIAN’s Workforce Development and Training Division providing instructional system design, curriculum and syllabus development, courseware development and instruction, specialized team training and instructional handbook development for the Naval Aviation Test and Evaluation University and NAVAIR University.
