On the bus, but not in the right seats – AVIAN promotes Slaughter and Treutler to VP

Recognizing strength within the company, AVIAN LLC recently promoted stand-out leaders as two of its newest vice presidents.

John Slaughter and John Treutler, who previously served as AVIAN’s director of quality assurance and an AVIAN senior program manager supporting Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 1 at Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., will now apply their expertise to business processes, proposal management and professional services for the company.

Slaughter becomes the company’s first vice president of business processes, while Treutler relieves Kevin Switick, co-owner and chief executive officer of AVIAN, as vice president of professional services.

Switick will continue to occupy multiple seats within the AVIAN management team. In addition to being an owner and CEO, he now serves as the vice president of strategic planning and business development.

“Our company has experienced consistent growth during the past five years and continues to grow,” Switick said. “It’s time to put these talented individuals in the right seats of our upper management team.”

Slaughter began his career with AVIAN in early 2012 after 28 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy as an officer and aviator.

As an AVIAN employee, Slaughter’s principal role was as the company’s director of quality assurance. His new role as vice president of business processes will expand upon what he implemented during the past year, which is establishing formal and repeatable practices for the company.

Treutler joined AVIAN in 2008 as its 9th employee. Prior to 2008, Treutler graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy and served 20 years of distinguished service in the U.S. Navy as an officer and aviator.

Throughout the past five years, Treutler has provided counsel to AVIAN’s leadership team and was responsible for developing and executing its initial business plan, contract transition teams, quality assurance program and strategic goals.

“We are taking care of our first customer – our employees,” Switick said. “Offering new dedicated management for day-to-day support is the great start to the new year.”
