Being on the acclaimed Inc. 500|5000 list was an achievable goal for AVIAN LLC, but accomplishing it fivefold would be like finding a four-leaf-clover — or would it?

Inc. magazine today ranked AVIAN No. 2630 on its Inc. 500|5000, an exclusive ranking of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. This ranking marks AVIAN’s fifth consecutive appearance on the list, which only a leading group of honor roll companies are able to do.

The list includes government contractors and commercial businesses at the forefront of America’s economic growth. Companies such as Yelp, Pandora, Timberland, Dell, Domino’s Pizza, LinkedIn, Zillow, and many other well-known names gained early exposure as members of the Inc. 500|5000.

“It’s not easy to achieve considerable growth for five consecutive years, especially during a time of fiscal uncertainty in our industry,” said Kevin Switick, an owner of AVIAN. “Each year posed new challenges for achieving our goal, but in the end our passion to find solutions and ‘get it done’ was recognized and rewarded.”

Founded in 2005, AVIAN has grown from a team of five to a team of more than 120 people located around the country.

AVIAN first appeared on the Inc. 500|5000 list in 2010 at No. 230. The company went on to receive a ranking of No. 267 in 2011, No. 660 in 2012 and No. 1675 in 2013.

“I remember being excited to show my mom the Inc. 500 list with AVIAN’s name on it for the first time,” Switick said. “We had rapid growth, which was great, but there was still uncertainty with whether or not we were doing things right. Now, after being on the list five years, I know we must be doing something right.”

The Inc. 5000’s total revenue is $211 billion, generating 505,000 jobs over the past three years. AVIAN has grown 143 percent in the past three years generating more than 60 of those jobs.

“What surprises me, even though I know it’s coming, is the sheer variety of the paths our entrepreneurs take to success, thematically reflecting how our economy has evolved,” said Eric Schurenberg, Inc.president and editor-In-chief.

AVIAN continues to seek opportunities in the defense market and commercially where its employees can build lasting relationships and memorable experiences, while generating solutions to its partners’ and customers’ business challenges.
