The John Glenn Squadron, a detachment of the Marine Corps Aviation Association, spearheads an annual scholarship program in the Southern Maryland tri-county area to promote higher education in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. For the fifth consecutive year, AVIAN LLC is a proud donor and in-kind contributor for the John Glenn Squadron’s annual golf fundraising tournament which raises money for the scholarship fund. AVIAN is excited for the scholarship recipients and recognizes the importance of contributing to area high school students’ pursuits of higher education, especially in AVIAN’s special interest areas of science and technology.
The MCAA John Glenn Squadron scholarship fund has awarded $229,500 in scholarships to 54 students since 2007. The Marine Corps Aviation Association is a non-profit organization that promotes and recognizes professional excellence in Marine Corps Aviation while preserving its heritage and safeguarding its future. The Southern Maryland detachment, named the John Glenn Squadron, was chartered by MCAA National at Naval Air Station Patuxent River in 2005.
